A heart healthy recipe made in one pan combining turkey smoked sausage, tomatoes, bell pepper and pasta

  • PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 pkg (13 oz each) turkey smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt's® Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic & Oregano-No Salt Added, undrained
  • 1 cup (8 ozs) Hunt's® Tomato Sauce-No Salt Added
  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 8 ounces dry rigatoni pasta, uncooked
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Purchase ingredients from Peapod or Amazon

  1. Spray large skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat. Add sausage; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until sausage is browned lightly.
  2. Add bell pepper; cook 2 minutes more. Add undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, water and pasta; stir to combine. Bring mixture to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat; cover and cook 15 minutes or until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Very good would add more pasta and cheese........3 year old granddaughter loved it.........easy and quick to fix ......will add to our regular meals

Very delicious dish... would recommend doubling up (at least) on the pasta as one cup doesn't balance well with the sausage. If you're not a huge fan of sausage that can be cut in half, but cheese fans should use way more than 3 tablespoons. I don't have a big enough skillet so I did the mix and the pasta separate and baked for 20 @ 300 degrees and it came out GREAT!

This was easy, quick and full of flavor! I doubled the recipe for our family of 8 and used beef broth in place of the water for a little something extra. We are adding this recipe to our regular rotation!
