A savory custard enriched with the goodness of spinach in a delicate pastry crust

  • 1 frozen deep dish pie crust (9-inch), thawed
  • PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (1 med = 1/2 cup)
  • 1 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pkg (10 oz each) frozen chopped spinach, thawed, squeezed dry
  • 1 cup Egg Beaters® Original (1 cup = 8 oz)
  • 1 cup fat free milk
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 3/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Purchase ingredients from Peapod or Amazon

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Lightly prick side of pie crust with fork. Bake 5 minutes, or until lightly browned; set aside. Reduce oven to 350°F.
  2. Spray medium skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat . Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 4 minutes, or until tender. Add spinach; mix well. Spoon into crust.
  3. Combine Egg Beaters, milk, flour, basil and hot pepper sauce; pour over spinach mixture. Cover edge of crust with foil to prevent over browning.
  4. Bake 50 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into 6 slices to serve.

Great option with gluten free crust and non dairy ingredients. Made this three times...added pre cooked sausage this last time with positive results...this is a keeper and a five star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ recipe.

I know this is an old post but...I made this recipe as posted except I had no frozen spinach so I used fresh Bok Choy (wanted to get rid of it) and added a bit of red pepper and a half sweet onion. It came out perfect. Filled the deep dish nicely with 6 healthy slices and was delicious. Gabbyabby, you should find a different kind of website to troll, your not any good at trolling recipe sites. Some people should make the recipe before they dish it. This one deserves 5 stars.

I make this recipe for work all the time when we have our office parties and Pot Luck Fridays. My co workers love it! It's a wonderful recipe. I always try to make two or more because everyone wants seconds!

How does a recipe get a reviewer rating of 3.3 based on (5) five star reviews? Something isn't right about that. Unless one adds nutmeg, salt/pepper, and additional vegetables, along with 2 cups of egg (twice the recommended) I don't see how this could possibly turn out. The recipe as written doesn't even fill 1/3 of the crust! (which is requested to be deep-dish, and mine wasn't even that). I used the egg, but not the recipe. Rated 2 stars for the convenience of the egg product only.

Absolutey delicious!! me and my family LOVE it! even my chef mother, who makes the best quiches ever!! Whats so great is it's so healthy, AND theres no cheese! cant say I missed it though! such a keeper! im 15 and this is the first quiche i've ever made all on my own and it was amazing. it's the best because i'm very health conscious, yet i LOVE to make food my whole family can enjoy, not just me and my mom and older sister because it's "health" food:)

Love egg beaters and use in all receipes. Tried the egg salad and could not believe the quality - wonderful.
