A traditional Cuban shredded beef recipe in a tomato sauce base flavored with onion, bell pepper, garlic and spices

  • PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1-1/2 pounds beef skirt steak, cut into large pieces
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup chopped red onion
  • 3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped garlic
  • 1 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt's® Diced Tomatoes, drained
  • 1 can (8 oz each) Hunt's® Tomato Sauce

Purchase ingredients from Peapod or Amazon

  1. Spray inside of 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place remaining ingredients in slow cooker. Cover; cook on LOW 8 hours or on HIGH 4 hours or until beef is tender.
  2. Discard bay leaf. Remove beef from slow cooker; pull into shreds with 2 forks. Return beef to slow cooker; stir to combine with sauce.
