A quick bean recipe combines pork and beans with bell pepper, onion and chili powder for an easy flavor variation

  • PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1/2 cup frozen bell pepper and onion strips
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) Van Camp's® Pork and Beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  1. Spray medium saucepan with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat. Add frozen vegetables; cook 2 to 3 minutes or until hot.
  2. Add beans and chili powder. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Peppers and onions are nice additions, but hot Italian sausage makes it even better and still fits into the 15 minute time limit. Chipotle sauce is another nice addition, with or without the sausage.
