My husband loved this recipe! I served it over wide egg noodles and he took the leftovers for lunch the next day (which NEVER happens, he isn't a leftovers kind of guy) I have made this a couple times, super easy to put together in the morning.
I gave this recipe a 1 out of 5. I thought the tomatoes were very prominent in the flavoring. I would have liked to have had the meat more prominent. I did take the advice of another comment and made cornbread with it which we loved. I think the next time I make this, I will use less tomatoes/tomatoe paste.
A great tip for those of you who own a stand mixer. If you have a stand mixer, put the flat beater on and put about a pound of the cooked meat into the mixing bowl. Start mixing low and speed up for a finer shred. Mix until your desired shed consistency is obtained.
This recipe was GREAT. At first I thought it was too juicy & that my family would not be tooo keen on it, but to my surprise they loved it espically my husband. The crock pot was cleaned out that night. P.S. this is also great with cornbread. ENJOY!!!!!!!
I made this last week. It was so yummy. This is the perfect meal for anyone with a busy schedule. My husband and I are both full time college students and we both work, to start this and then come home to it smelling so wonderful it was amazing. This will be a new staple at our house.
We loved this meal. Fixed in Tuesday night when we had company visiting. I do feel that it needed more meat in it. Overall this meal is what my hubby calles "a keeper".
