This is a spin on the Sonoran hot dog, which is wrapped in bacon (definitely BAD for a company called Hebrew National) and served in a large Bolillo roll, topped with guacamole and maybe sitting on top of a schmear of refried beans. Never saw crushed tortilla chips as a topping, but why not? JLK, this isn't about "Mexicanizing" anything, we in the US glommed on to their idea. And it tastes oh so good.

The hot dog is a more complex animal in South America. The completo (Spanish for "complete", "total") is a hot dog variation eaten in Chile, usually served with ingredients such as chopped tomatoes, avocados, mayonnaise, sauerkraut, a variation of the sauce américaine, Chilean chili, green sauce and cheese. Its size can be twice of an American hot dog The completo is also a type of hot dog eaten in Brazil, which has at least mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, corn, peas, tomatoes, onions, Parmesan and fries. In São Paulo, it is common to add mashed potatoes. Common extra fillings include chicken, cream cheese, ground meat and olives.

For crying out loud, do you people have to mexicanize everything! Hot dogs are American like apple pie.

The Hebrew National Hot Dog is fantastic. The flavor stands on its own and other than the bun, any aditional condiments are just a waste of space.
